Discontinued use of ClamAV
Dear customer,
Due to recent changes in the ClamAV structure we have decided that this is no longer a solution that is suitable for our mail servers and are currently in the process of investigating the best suitable replacement.
We will be removing ClamAV from the servers forthwith and request all customers ensure that their current virus scanner definitions are up to date (this is normally done automatically).
Please remember not to open any attachments that come from unknown addresses or are attachments that you are not expecting.
Never follow any unexpected links within an email that is unknown and finally never input any secure details into a website link that you have received via email.
Once we have sourced and tested a suitable replacement for ClamAV, we will inform you prior to the implementation.
Kind regards,
186k Support Team.

186k Fibre to the Cabinet
Dear Customer,
We are pleased to announce that we have now rolled out our Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) products offering a potential 40Mbps download speed!
We worked closely with BT Wholesale during the FTTC trials so already have experience of dealing with this service.
Our CTO, Dave Richards said: “This has been a very exciting time for the company and its partners. Being at the forefront of technological development is key to our unique offering and we have a number of customers already involved in testing the new FTTC services, getting very positive feedback from them.
The Dolphin Management Portal, which is used daily by our partners to provision, manage and support their customers, minimizes the need for retraining or procedure changes because new products such as FTTC use the same tools / services; We are seeking existing and new partners to come on board with our FTTC offering, which is very attractive at the time when speed and quality of service is paramount.”
At present around 10% of the country can receive an FTTC service, with a planned 40% being able to receive the service by 2012.
There are two different flavours of this product, one has an upload speed of up to 2Mb, and the other has an upload speed of up to 10Mb.
If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to us as we are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Improvements to SMTP services
As part of the ongoing maintenance of our mailcore we will be reviewing our IP address access list. We will be removing all IP addresses that do not form part of the 186k network. We do not expect this to have an impact on any existing customers however if you believe you will experience any problems please contact your account manager.
